I bought this after the FrankenRep because I was really happy with my Rep... and Jeff & John were SUPER helpful with the process of ALL my questions... they really helped me out. I knew I wanted an Alpha Beast BRS for the collection but I never can get in on the drop and the ELITE groups keep throwing me out because I own a Clone and love it VS my 6.41o BM67 (a 400$ knife I carried for 7-8 years) but when my Alpha Beast aka CHAB came to me...... I was like.... HOLY SH*T!! I had an "Ah-HAH!" Moment. It was big enough to fit my hand right and weights under 5.0... but is still heavy enough to give follow through. So I went to tune it and SLASH team did it for me... then I noticed it was sorta loud due to the latch. I took it off with the tool they sent and that "CLINK nnn, CLINK nnn " sharp sound it makes. It SOUNDS like a real Alpha Beast. Feels like one, flips like one. But ive never OWNED one. Little did I know after LEARNING tricks that it's not the flipper that chooses the knife, it's the knife that fits the flipper. And this is my GRAIL.
If you don't know what that is.... that means I've found the Holy Grail of balisongs, and after flipping it, no other of my Bali's come CLOSE to how F-king nice this thing is. I never make videos that I don't post on Fb or YouTube. But I made a small one for the website and I have one im making for FB. People need to see how bad ass this knife is. But KNOW!!! YES, it is a clone. So if you wanna do like I did and wait 6 years til you meet someone online that's selling their old beater... or you finally get in on the BRS drop and can get you a 350$ knife? Or buy what you want now? Brand new..... yes it's a clone but the only thing that separates this version of the AB... is that this is the original style, it's not the Channel "Sandwich" style Bali like you're used to using on every other knife. HOWEVER! I guarantee you'll love it. I finally found a knife I can EDC with and retire my BM67. I'm beyond a happy customer.
This CHAB clone is well worth the money for many reasons
Pros:
Well built and solid
Sharp out of the box and wonderful blade/spine
Flips smoothly for a clone
Sounds AMAZING
Tricks have become easier using this knife
Metal hasn’t dented after being dropped on rocks and hard floor
Cons:
Screws become loose quite easily but loctite and re rescrewing will solve that issue
Could be just my blade, but some parts of the edge is slightly sharper than the other but not a big deal if you just using it for flipping (is still razor sharp)
The last complaint is the latch as it is simply just annoying but removing it resolved everything
In summary, this is both an awesome flipper as well as a EDC. For the price of about 170, this is both the best CHAB clone as well as flipper for this price range. To an extent it feels and sounds better than knives like squid industries for the price of below 200usd
This clone is one of the best I have ever held. The owner Jeff was very kind and honest. Can not beat the quality for price. Little to no blade play or rub and generally recommend this to anyone
I have quite a few clones from this website...the alien, ex-10, kraken, rep, and as of a few days ago the chab and the chab wins by a landslide, came with zero tap, or play, had a few scratches but they were going to happen eventually anyway, sounds supper nutty, Jeff definitely knows how to pick em.
Great knife and cant beat the price. Jeff from slash2gash is a great guy and the customer service was awesome. You really cant go wrong with this chab clone, im beyond impressed with the quality and good tolerances. It even came with a bunch of extra hardware, a torx wrench and a nice case.
